Welcome to the International Center, a place where foreign and Japanese residents and visitors can come to study, ask questions about life in Tanabe or Japan in general, read up on local and international travel destinations, browse the Internet, or just relax!
Free Information on Living in Tanabe
The Center's staff provides information in both Japanese and English related to international exchange activities and daily life in Japan. Valuable information on life in Tanabe City is available free of charge in 3 languages (Chinese, Korean, and English).
Library
The Center's library has a wide selection of reference materials, dictionaries, language-learning resources, and over 500 English-language books! A two-week loan system is available for books and other non-reference materials.
In addition, the Center subscribes toThe Daily Yomiuri (an English language newspaper) and Kansai Flea Market (a weekly classifieds paper), so come and check out the latest news and events!
Internet Access
Computer and internet access is available to the general public (200 yen per hour for internet usage; discount available forTIES members).
Bicycle Rental
Bicycles are available for foreign visitors and residents to borrow free of charge. Ask a staff member for further details.
Japanese Lessons
We have a number of volunteers willing to give free one-on-one Japanese lessons! Contact the Center for more information.
